‘Ezme’ salad (or ‘crushed’ salad in Turkish) is a luscious tomato and pepper that is a beautifully easy recipe to make. Grab your blender, sharpen your knife and prepare to make this beautiful crushed tomato and pepper salad recipe.

For this salad the sun-dried tomato paste and pomegranate sauce are simply essential! They give the salad the most gorgeous flavour that you can forget you’re even eating a salad in the first place! It just goes to show healthy dishes don’t always have to taste bland…
I also opt to use fresh flat-leaf parsley – I think it just adds so much more flavour!
You can add chilli to this recipe – either chilli peppers or chilli flakes – but I prefer it without!
How to make the salad?
Grab your trusty blender and this recipe will take mere minutes to complete. Simply peel the tomatoes and chop them up roughly. Also chop up your other fresh produce – the peppers, the onion and the parsley. Throw these into the blender and mix until fully crushed.
Now add the squeezed lemon, the salt, the oil, the sun-dried tomato paste and the pomegranate sauce into the blender and mix until fully combined. Enjoy!
Ezme Tomato & Pepper Salad
Ingredients
- 5 tomatoes
- 3 red peppers
- 1 red onion
- 1/2 lemon
- 25 g flat-leaf parsley
- 1 tbsp sun-dried tomato paste
- 1 tbsp pomegranate sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Peel the tomato and roughly chop it, along with the parsley, peppers and onion. Add them into the blender and mix until fully crushed. Then add the lemon juice, sun-dried tomato paste, pomegranate sauce, salt and olive oil and blend until combined. Enjoy!
